We are currently working on writing informative and explanatory essays to examine a topic.  Students need to be able to introduce a topic clearly, develop the topic with relevant facts and examples, and provide a concluding statement that follows from the information presented.  Students have also been asked to thoroughly edit their essays with conventions.. read more →

Literacy Week at SLAS!

Our students and faculty celebrated Literacy Week and Dr. Seuss’s Birthday this week with a variety of activities. Our upper Primary students, Secondary students, and teachers visited our younger ones and read interesting stories. Classrooms decorated their doors with literacy themed designs.   Our students read over 100,000 minutes combined during the week celebrating the.. read more →

This week, as part of our Literacy Week, we celebrated the work of DR. Seuss in the Early Years department. We had so much fun reading his books and completed fun activities according to the stories. Fine Arts – Primary years did a great job project!

Primary Art classes have been busy in the art room since coming back from the break.  1rst and 2nd grades created their own textured papers which they used in their cut paper collages of birds, insects or underwater scenes.  Kindergarten, 1rst and 2nd grade then looked at images of skylines of cities around the world.. read more →
