Kicking off the Junior and MS soccer season

Sports, Wildcats

Today we travelled to Britannica for our Junior Football match. With a team made up of players from both grade 4 & grade 5, our amazing team put together a strong fight. We started the game strongly and had several chances, before Britannica scored 2 quick goals. Our spirit was not affected however, as we yet again came close to scoring by hitting both the bar and the crossbar in quick succession. Our eagerness to score left ourselves open in defense, which meant Britannica could add a third just before half time.

With some words of encouragement we came out in the second half and were the team which looked most likely to score for the majority of the second half, however, after having what felt like the whole team force their goalkeeper to make a save, Britannica scored two goals right at the end of the game.

All in all, we can be proud of juniors, who gave 110% in the game and work as a collective, offering each other words of encouragement throughout. They all have not stopped asking to play in the next game, showing their enthusiasm and excitement to play football. Good effort Wildcats – Coach Liam

Today, SLAS Middle School soccer team had a great home game against Britannica. The game ended in a 4-4 tie. Everyone on the team showed great enthusiasm, dedication, and did their very best to help to the team. Everyone showed great respect towards our opponents. Overall, I think we did amazing as a team and demonstrated some great qualities!
And many thanks to Roshan, Captain of the High School soccer team for acting as referee for the game and the PTA for providing snacks and fruits for the team, it is greatly appreciated. Captain – Jesse
