Principal’s Blog – Jul 7 2013

Principal Martinez

Dear Parents and Students,

It has been a privilege to serve as your principal for the 2012-13 school year. I am proud of what we have accomplished for the students of Livingston American School.

My priority this year was simple – invest in those things that will ensure the success of our students and educators. To this end, we have focused on the continuation of increasing rigorous course offerings, supporting staff with new instructional resources such as new textbooks and teaching resources and adding technology to the classrooms.

We have continued to support our facilities and the growth of our school. This year we built a new library, two new classrooms and created an office for our Athletic Department.  We expanded our elementary library to a new larger location on the first floor.

The strides we have made would not have been possible without the support of the dedicated educators and support staff who prepare our children to be college and career ready.

To the graduating seniors and their families, I extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes for your continued success in college and careers. I am confident that through hard work and dedication, our students will attain their dreams and make us proud.

Parents, I encourage you to make sure your child reads every day, writes letters, poems and stories on a frequent basis and practice math in many ways. Anything you can do to promote learning will help your child. Writing, mathematics, and reading practice are important.  For this reason, we have implemented a new summer reading program for students entering grades K-12.

Thank you for your advocacy and partnership in the education of your child. I wish you all the best for a safe and fun summer.

Warmest Regards,

Faustina Martinez M.A.Ed
