SLAS Early Years: Children’s Art Competition

News

This year at SLAS, Early Years pottery submitted work into the International Children Art Competition (国际少年儿美术大赛)

A very BIG THANK YOU to our Early Years Pottery Teacher, Ms Rose, who has been with us for over 5 years. She has continued to work with our students at SLAS helping to hone our creativity and confidence in expressing ideas via different mediums. Come check out previous SLAS Wildcat works at the Pottery Booth during our next School fair.

The International Children Art Competition (ICAC) has been held successfully for 9 consecutive years supported by the Chinese Society of Systems Engineering and the International Children’s Art Alliance to promote the development of children’s art.

The International Children Art Competition (国际少年儿美术大塞)is broken down into 5 age categories:

  • 3-5 year olds
  • 5-7 year olds
  • 7-9 year olds
  • 9-12 year olds
  • 12-16 year olds

There is no specific theme requirements except a healthy and positive content. Forms or work that may be submitted include but are not limited to paintings, 3-D handwork, and ceramic work.

Check out our winners at SLAS:

I’m so proud of my Early Years Wildcats. They’ve had a lot of fun this year as we learned through playing with shapes, sizes, and colors.  Ceramic art, from how to mold clay to the process of firing pottery to putting their ideas into 3D form, is all about enjoying the creating process. EY Wildcats had a lot of fun in their pottery class this year! Their growth has been inspiring to me and I appreciate ICAC for the certificates and awards as our students were so excited to take them home in the last week of school!
