The focus of creative lab is forensic science this quarter. During this course students will explore the basic concepts and the main areas of forensic science.
They will use the scientific method for the examination of physical evidence, for example fingerprints, hair and fibers. This week’s focus is about fingerprints. Student will take fingerprints during class and build a fingerprint database of our class. The individuality of a fingerprint is not determined by its general shape or pattern but by a careful study of its ridge characteristics or minutiae. The most effective way to obtain a print from a surface is dusting. The challenge for the students is locate, study and match an unknown fingerprint to a person.
