This week in first grade, we learned about fact families and fact triangles in math. This helps us learn to add and subtract. In science we learned more about landforms and erosion. In social studies, we continued learning about things today and long ago. We were excited today to talk about transportation today and a hundred years ago. In literacy we read about The Big Trip, a fictional story, and Lewis and Clark’s Big Trip, an informational text. We wrote narrative stories, with our topic being our “Ouch Story”, about a time we got hurt. We are learning to be great writers and spellers which was showcased in our SLAS Primary Spelling Bee! Awesome job to everyone for spelling so many words, and to our very own first grade winner, Drishti! We are excited for literacy week next week and to dress crazy for Wacky Wednesday on Wednesday to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday!
