The 2026 Secondary History Fair, held on March 11–12, has successfully concluded, marking another memorable event that showcased the creativity, research skills, and historical understanding of students across the secondary level. Students explored significant moments in world history and geography, and presented their work through informative displays, comprehensive written research, and impressive models that reflected both academic effort and creativity.
Among the winning projects was a study of the Black Death, which examined how one of the deadliest pandemics in history reshaped medieval societies. Another project explored Feudalism and how systems of land ownership, loyalty, and hierarchy organized life in medieval Europe. These topics help us understand how crises and social systems can transform societies and continue to influence how communities and governments respond to challenges today.
The fair also highlighted the struggle for equality through a project titled Breaking the Chains of Segregation, which examined the fight against racial discrimination during the American Civil Rights Movement. This topic reminds us that the pursuit of justice and equal rights remains an important issue in societies around the world.
Other winning projects focused on major global conflicts. One examined the impact of the Vietnam War, while another explored the consequences of World War II. Another striking project recreated the scene of the September 11 attacks. Together, these projects highlight how wars and acts of terrorism have lasting effects on global relations, security, and the way nations work together to maintain peace.
In addition, a wide range of historical interests and perspectives was demonstrated through many other projects about ancient civilizations, American history, and geography.
“This history fair taught me a lot about the social, political, interactive, cultural, and economic aspects of WW2. We understood that the war had so much more depth than what we see on headlines and news. This was one of my favorite moments from this year and I am so proud of this group!”
