So far in 5th grade we are having a great year! Recently 5th grade participated in the Elementary Science Fair, it was impressive the amount of work that students put into their projects.

In writing we have been focusing on Opinion writing and making our writing strong with details and adding our emotions to the writing; this is teaching us to make our writing much clear.

In science we have been learning about different ecosystems and also about different biomes in the world. We are soon moving towards Earth forms, volcanoes and earthquakes.

In social studies we have been learning about the early colonies (Spanish colonies, Virginia colony and Plymouth colony) in North America and soon we will start learning about The New England Colonies, The Middle colonies and the Southern Colonies.

In Math we have been learning about fractions, how to add and subtract fractions, exponents and what they mean and also negative numbers.
