What’s going on in Early Years

News, Newsletter

Pre-school

Anyone want a playdough moon cake? Preschool learned more about Mid Autum Festival and how we celebrate with our families.  We also explored the letter F, families, numbers 4 and 5 this week. The great weather meant lots of outdoor play time and even a couple of laps around the track!

Pre-Kindergarten

This week Pre-K explored the letter T, our numbers 1-10, and learned a mooncake song for Mid-Autumn day.  We practiced making T with our bodies, and with playdough, then practiced writing it.  Our numbers and mooncake song went together quite well as it was about 10 little mooncakes!

Kindergarten

This week in Kindergarten we reviewed the correct letter formation and sounds of ‘p’, ‘i’ and ‘n’. We also practiced blending letter sounds and discussed the 3 ways to read a book.

In Science we began a unit ‘Exploring Size and Mass’ discussing which things are heavier and which are lighter. We conducted some hands on experiments which were delightful!

In Math we introduced sorting by attributes, multisensory patterns and number review. What a busy week!
