Faustina Martinez is from Houston, Texas USA. She attended Sam Houston State University for her Bachelor of Arts degree in Bilingual Education and studied at the University of South Florida for her Master’s degree with a double major in Educational Leadership and Curriculum Design and received her Master’s in Reading from the University of Central Florida. With more than 18 years of experience as a teacher, Mrs. Martinez has taught in elementary, middle and high school, working with students primarily as an English and English as a Second Language teacher. For the past 7 years, Mrs. Martinez has served as an administrator. She worked in Texas and Florida in public schools prior to moving to Shanghai in July of 2011. When asked why she became an educator, Mrs. Martinez shares that she believes that everything we say, feel and do has a ripple effect that influences the present and the future of the collective consciousness on Earth. Her goal is to serve the SLAS community to ensure that we all work to guide our students to their fullest potential in and out of the school learning environment.
